Today in class we learned that finding the derivitave of a function can be used to find the instantaneous velocity of a point because the derivitive is actually the same as the slope of the tangent line through that point. We worked on the sheet handed out in class and focused on using the shortcuts we leared to help us easily find the derivitive, velocity, instantenous velocity, and even direction of objects.
